Bone Density Studies
Winyah Diagnostic uses compact, accurate, portable p-dexa technology to assist the physician in diagnosing osteoporosis or help determine the risk of developing this disease.
In the outpatient setting, bone density evaluations can be an important part of the yearly examination of post-menopausal women. In the skilled nursing and residential care setting, it can be a critical element of an effective fracture management program. Let us tell you more about how this new technology can benefit your patients.
Cardiac Event Monitoring
Cardiac Event Monitoring is used to identify suspected arrhythmias that may elude 24 hour Holter monitoring. The patient wears a comfortable, lightweight, easy to use monitor for up to 30 days. If the patient experiences a symptom associated with an arrhythmia, he transmits this signal to our 24 hour monitoring center where our nurses, technicians, and consulting cardiologists are available to help spot any life threatening situation. Then, reports are sent to the patients attending physician for interpretation.
Holter Monitoring
Our 24-hour holter monitoring uses revolutionary featherweight, all solid state flash RAM technology to assist physician in identifying cardiac arrhythmias. Detailed, customized reports are promptly generated from our cardiac monitoring center and provided to the patients physician, and if desired, our board certified consulting cardiologist for analysis.
Peripheral Vascular Testing
Vascular testing is a noninvasive method of identifying the presence, absence, location, and degree of severity of peripheral arterial disease. This service plays an important role in preventing strokes, heart attacks, amputation, and pressure ulcers. The procedure is quick, painless, and performed in the comfort of the patients room or doctors office, or institutional setting.
Portable X-Ray Services
Portable X-Ray offers the cost saving and convenience associated with having x-rays brought to you rather than you having to make a trip to a hospital. Whether you want to rule out congestive heart failure or a fracture, you can rely on Winyah Diagnostic. Because x ray services are available on an emergency basis, portable units usually based within about 40 miles of our clients.
Transtelephonic 12-Lead EKG's
Winyah Diagnostics offers not only traditional EKGs, but the space age Biolog Transtelephonic EKG system. Compact, hand held monitors are used to acquire the 12-lead EKG in the home, institutional facility, or doctors office and transmitted via phone line where rhythms are received and analyzed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our revolutionary FDA approved computer technology prints detailed report and suggested interpretations. Our specially trained nurses and technologists immediately review the report to spot any possible life-threatening situation. The report is then sent to the patients attending physician or our medical directors for final review.
You and your patients enjoy the advantage of accurate, immediate, and affordable 12-Lead EKG information wherever they may be. This service is often used not only in emergency situations, but also for admission in skilled nursing facilities, cardiac drug titration, and post discharge follow up. In many cases, Winyah Diagnostics makes the Biolog Monitor available to the facility at no up front cost.
